General Summary

 The Occupational Therapist, as a member of the interdisciplinary team, provides assessment and appropriate therapeutic intervention which focuses on promoting functional independence, preventing further disability and maintaining wellness The therapist's interventions are designed to assist individuals in overcoming or adapting to limitations imposed by their illness or injury. Treatment is often based upon actual performance of essential living tasks. The Occupational Therapist provides quality client care considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent practice. Demonstration of designated competencies is required.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Provides fabulous every day care, every day to clients and other customers.
  • Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop interdisciplinary care plans for clients served by that team.
  • Provides evaluation and treatment using accepted American Occupational Therapy Association procedures, techniques, and modalities.
  • Provides client, family, and staff education and training as needed and documents appropriately.
  • Documents client evaluations, progress notes, care plans, discharge summaries, and outcomes data in accordance with existing criteria.
  • Participates in Care Conferences and Team Meetings and communicates with members of the team concerning client treatment as necessary.

Qualificaitons: 

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Curriculum at a recognized university or college.
  • Registered as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan.
  • CPR certified.
  • Prefer 2 years experience/exposure to a variety of occupational therapy clients.
  • Valid driver's license.
