General Summary:

The Painter will be responsible for providing painting and other related services to our Special Tree facilities in the Metro Detroit and Mid-Michigan areas.


  • Performs repair and prep on wood, plaster and concrete surfaces for painting.
  • Lifts and/or moves furniture, equipment, and appliances.
  • Select appropriate tools and materials used in preparation and set-up of painting.
  • Prepares surfaces by removing old paint using paint removers, scrapers and wore brushes
  • Fills nail holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers using a caulk gun or putty knife.
  • Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces such as baseboards, casings, and windows with tape and paper to protect during painting.
  • Applies coats of paint, stain, varnish, lacquer or enamel to various interior and exterior surfaces in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards. 


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of residential/commercial and interior/exterior painting experience; required.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment; preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and interface with other facilities team members and service lines.
  • Able to plan daily work and work independently.
  • Able to lift and set-up ladders and scaffold.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
